The Municipality of Bobon achieved a significant milestone, having qualified for the National Validation of the 2024 Seal of Good Local Governance. This notable achievement underscores the unwavering commitment of the LGU to uphold transparency, accountability, and excellence in local governance.

Under the able leadership of Mayor Reny “Jing” A. Celespara and Vice Mayor Ligaya Tagros-Uy, the Municipality has demonstrated substantial progress in its governance initiatives. Last year, Bobon successfully met 8 out of 10 assessment areas, but did not advance beyond the Regional level. This year, through strengthened efforts and collaboration of all offices in the LGU, including our partners from the National Government Agencies and various Civil Society Organizations, Bobon has advanced to the National Validation..

The LGU extends its heartfelt gratitude to the municipal functionaries, our partner-NGAs, and the CSOs whose hard work and dedication have been instrumental in this achievement. The LGU also specially commends Atty. Begie T. Lucenecio, Municipal Local Government Operations Officer of DILG Bobon, for his tireless effort and commitment in assisting the LGU every step of the way to reach this stage.

Special appreciation is also given to the 2024 SGLG National Validation Team from the DILG Region V: PD Melody E. Relucio, CESO V, Provincial Director of DILG Camarines Norte Provincial Office and Atty. Hazel O. Deocareza, City Local Government Operations Officer of DILG Naga City, for their thorough evaluation of the 10 subject areas, namely: Financial Administration and Sustainability; Disaster Preparedness; Social Protection and Sensitivity; Health Compliance and Responsiveness; Sustainable Education; Business Friendliness and Competitiveness; Safety, Peace, and Order; Environmental Management; Tourism, Heritage Development, Culture and Arts; and Youth Development.

As Bobon moves forward in its pursuit of clinching its first SGLG award, the LGU remains steadfast in its commitment of upholding a participatory, transparent, and accountable governance, and ensuring the efficient delivery of basic services to the Bobonanon.
